The secondary market for wind turbines

Roughly 100,000 wind turbines installed in Europe between 1990 and 2010 are now approaching the end of their support schemes. Some are repowered, some are decommissioned, and a large share is resold — to operators in emerging markets, to owners extending existing farms, and to dismantlers harvesting components. That trade happens today across dozens of dealer websites in a dozen languages, with no shared data format and no way to tell whether an offer from 2019 is still live.

Turbinero exists to give that market a single, normalised index. It starts with the reference layer you are looking at: a canonical catalogue of manufacturers and turbine models, each with its specifications, production years and variants, each linked to the countries where the machines operate. A model page is useful with zero offers attached — and becomes a transaction page the moment one appears.

Technical data is the foundation, so we treat it strictly. Every specification carries its source and verification status. Where a value cannot be confirmed against a manufacturer datasheet or a reliable industry database, it is left empty rather than guessed. An empty field costs a buyer five minutes; a wrong one marked as verified costs them a purchase.
